| In this Issue: September 2006 Hello Everyone! It's been a while that we put out a Newsletter but we are back up and running on a quarterly basis as well as posting it to the Alumni Affairs web site. Many thanks to those of you who have written saying that you have missed receiving the Newsletter. It's nice to know that you are out there and looking forward to the latest issue. Please let me know if there are any particular subjects of interest that you would like to see added and I will see what I can do to get them included in upcoming issues. The Alumni Affairs Office has been very busy over the past year. New programs have been added, more alumni receptions are being planned, the Florida Tech Today magazine is in full swing and much more. This month we are focusing on the upcoming "Rock The World" Homecoming in October. For those of you who don't know, homecoming is moving from February to October so this will be the only year there will be two homecomings in one year. We are in the process of planning the agenda but have posted a prospective schedule at our web site. Go to http://www.fit.edu/alumni then click on Homecoming Fall 2006. If you haven't updated your current mailing address with us in a while, you might want to consider doing so. That way you'll be ensured of receiving the Florida Tech Today magazine. Also, it will help us to remove "lost" alumni from our Lost Lists. Have a great summer & I look forward to talking with you in a couple of months! Marjorie Beckett '98 We would like to say a b ig "thank you" to everyone who participated in the 2006 Alumni Survey. We had 442 alumni participants offering valuable comments and suggestions. The survey results will be used to help improve existing programs as well as plan for new programs. To read the results go to the Alumni Affairs web site at http://www.fit.edu/alumni and click on Alumni Survey Results 2006. Come join us in October as we "Rock the World" during homecoming week. We are expecting more alumni to join us as this is our first ever October homecoming with an expanded parade and the alumni banquet being held on Friday. There will be no more February homecoming so mark your calendars for October 11-14 and plan on joining us. Check the Homecoming Fall 2006 schedule on the Alumni Affairs web site for updates. back
to top Be sure to check the calendar of events page on the Alumni Affairs web site periodically for the latest receptions and other events. Receptions are going to be an ongoing affair so you will want to keep updated in case there is one in your area. See photos of a few previous receptions from last year on the right side bar in the Photo Gallery under Events on the Alumni Affairs web site. Check out our new Chapter Pages and see if there is a chapter in your area that you can join. If there is no chapter in your area, but you would like to start one, contact gopanthers@fit.edu for more information. If you are a chapter leader, then you will want to notify us of your events so that we can post them on your chapter site. In addition, if there is any news or points of interest that you would like to share on your page, let us know by emailing mbeckett@fit.edu. Don't let distance keep you from connecting with former friends and classmates. Join the alumni online community and search for those friends you've been longing to talk to. It only takes a few minutes to register and will be well worth it. Use your security id to register and then make up your own login and password. It's as easy as 1,2,3.
