Summer Camps and Conferences

General Information

Available Dates: Residence Hall accommodations for groups of 10 to 300 are available from the first week of June through early August. Please contact our office prior to planning programs where participants will need housing on campus.

Contracts: Summer Conference Contracts are generally initiated beginning in February. All contracts include guarantee deadlines where minimum deposits are due prior to the actual contracted dates. Accommodations are not guaranteed until a contract has been signed by an authorized group representative and Florida Tech.

Liability Insurance: All groups must provide the university with a copy of a current and valid CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE (issued by an insurance agency/company legally authorized to provide comprehensive liability coverage in the State of Florida) naming the Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) as additionally insured and covering both General Liability and Worker's Compensation. Specifics of this requirement are handled on a case-by-case basis depending upon the type of planned event. All policies must be COMPREHENSIVE GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE and have a MINIMUM COVERAGE IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE-MILLION DOLLARS.
Florida Tech is not liable for damage to or loss of personal property, or from failure or interruption of public utilities. Personal property/liability insurance is required. All groups must be aware that liability for any injury or damage to persons or property by the conduct of their activity is recognized and assumed by the User.

Youth Group Supervision: Groups whose participants are of college and/or pre-college age must provide and pay the associated costs for live-in adult advisors. We require a ratio of one adult for every 10 participants. Youth groups should also plan to provide structured opportunities and free-time activities during times when participants are not directly involved in program activities. Florida Tech requires that groups have in their possession a medical release for every minor child that is not accompanied by a parent allowing hospital treatment or treatment by a doctor should an accident occur.

Food and Beverage: All organizations using Florida Tech facilities must utilize the Florida Tech Dining Services and/or Florida Tech Catering. No food or beverages may be brought from off campus without permission from the Conference and Events Office. Florida Tech Dining and Catering Services provide a wide variety of choices from an "all you care to eat" cafeteria and a la carte menus in the Sub Cafe and Rathskeller. The sky's the limit when it comes to catering. Our Florida Tech staff can pull together just about any menu you want for your group.

The success of your program depends on the site at which it's held. That's why at Florida Tech we go the extra mile to provide you the personal attention that you need to plan and coordinate a productive event.

Typical RoomHousing (Summer Only): Comfort and convenience are our specialties. We offer clean and comfortable accommodations in both single and double occupancy residence hall rooms with modern suite-style baths or traditional-style hall baths. We can accommodate groups of 10 to 500. All guest rooms are air-conditioned with live telephone jacks and wired for access to the campus network. We also offer linen service if your group or organization needs it. Florida Tech's residence halls are centrally located next to Evans Cafeteria.

Food Services: Table service, buffets and cafeteria style meals are available for all groups. Our experienced staff can also help you plan special events for your participants. Surprise your group with an outdoor barbecue on our university plaza, an elegant wine and cheese reception amidst the beauty of the Botanical Gardens or a pub night with live entertainment at the Rathskeller Eatery. The sky's the limit!

Meeting & Conference Facilites: This includes three state-of-the-art lecture halls, over 40 standard classrooms and our 503-seat Gleason Auditorium. The All Purpose Room and the All Faiths Center are also available for your group's use and can be outfitted with audio/visual equipment according to your needs.

Recreational Facilities: WIth the proper scheduling, your group can enjoy a game of basketball in our air-conditioned gymnasium, outdoor tennis and raquetball courts, our sand volleyball court, or take a swim in one of our two outdoor swimming pools. If your participants would rather beat the heat, they can enjoy a game of billiards in the Rathskeller Gameroom.

Other Great Features: While at Florida Tech, your participants can also take advantage of free on-campus parking, use of our library and shopping in the University Bookstore & Gift Shop.

We're here for you! For more information about Florida Tech Conferences and Events, please contact us at (321)674-8125 or fax (321)674-7444. You can reach us through e-mail at conference@fit.edu.
