"NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN!" MORE THAN JUST A COINCIDENCE?

“Facebook Stalking” is a term that you may have seen tossed around casually. However, stalking is a real concern for many students and can take several forms.  Join us to identify when these “coincidences” may represent something more dangerous or threatening.  Learn the dangers and warning signs of stalking, how to best protect yourself, and where to get help if you or someone you know may feel stalked.

LET'S GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT: SPEED MEET & GREET

Establishing relationships with others is an important part of college life.  However, when you are always busy trying to complete endless amounts of assignments and studying for exams, it can be difficult to set aside time for meeting new people.  Fortunately, there are ways to balance our personal and professional lives and connect with others.  Join us at this year’s annual speed dating event to meet new people, just in time for Valentine’s Day! Whether you are looking for a romantic relationship or simply a friendship with someone who shares similar interests with you, this event will definitely be worth your while. You will also learn about basic dating and communication skills, as well as how to sustain a healthy relationship.

RELATIONSHIPS: DEALING WITH DIFFERENCES, DIVERSITY AND CONTROL

There will always be people you don't get along with, don't understand, or don't even want to poke with a 10-foot pole, but sometimes we are forced to be around these people! Join us to learn about ways to manage these uncomfortable relationships. From bullies to careless roommates to professors who just rub you the wrong way, discover how to assert yourself, interact professionally, and manage these challenging situations.  Additionally, we will have an open conversation about individual and cultural differences that may lead to misconceptions and varying perspectives.
