ProTrack is Florida Tech’s unique co-op program. Short for "cooperative education" or "cooperative learning," co-op is the combination of traditional classroom learning with practical, usually paid, work experience. Co-ops are typically multi-term, where a student works at least two semesters for the same employer and receives academic credit for that experience.
ProTrack Cooperative Education takes this one step further – at Florida Tech, co-op combines a traditional university education with a one-of-a-kind, student-centered cooperative education program. Students can opt to work within our unique 3-in-4 curriculum structure or to customize a work experience program that fits in with their academic and career plans. Our 3-in-4 structure allows both U.S. and international students to complete up to three semester-long paid work experiences related to their major and career interests while still earning a bachelor's degree in four years. ProTrack students are also eligible for the FastTrack program, which allows them to earn a Master’s degree in just five years. For more information read here: Finish in Five.Getting major-related work experience can be a great way for students to apply what they have learned in the classroom and can help clarify career goals. In addition, students gain a competitive edge in their full-time job search because they have the skills and relevant experience that employers are seeking.
