Cindy Schmitt
Senior Director, Continuing Education and Director of Behavioral Science and Technology
National speaker and trainer, Cindy Schmitt, has over 20 years of experience in the fields of training, performance management and process improvement. Her experience includes motivational speaking, performance management training, and process improvement consulting for schools, non-profit organizations, businesses and governmental agencies across the United States.
Cindy holds a Bachelor's of Professional Studies from Barry University, a Master’s in Christian Counseling from Chapel Christian University and a Master's in Computer Information Systems from Florida Tech. She has served on numerous boards and committees at local, state, and national level. Cindy Schmitt's realistic, upbeat, and systematic approach has earned her recognition as a leader in her field. Two such honors include Air Force Space Command Training Director of the Year, and the Air Force Professional Performer Award given to the top 5%.
Currently, Cindy is the Director for the Behavioral Science and Technology program which includes the Applied Behavior Analysis Professional Development Program that is offered live and through distance learning. She is currently involved in research involving instructional technology in the online learning environment. Her passion is discovering and experimenting with new learning technologies.

Beverly Strickland
Support Coordinator
Beverly Strickland trains individuals to use ANGEL and Adobe Connect systems to over 30 co-instructors, staff, and over one thousand students. She enjoys assisting users of these programs and problem solving to finds ways of improving the assistance of students throughout all of Continuing Education's programs.
Beverly has been with Florida Tech since 2008, when she started as a college role during her studies of Space Science with the Astronomy/Astrophysics undergrad program.

Brandon Martinez-Onstott
Program Assistant
Brandon Martinez-Onstott, currently holds a Bachelors of Construction Management and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Organizational Behavior Management from Florida Institute of Technology.
Brandon continuously strives to utilize an adaptive, effective and systematic approach to problem solving. His experience in the fields of training, performance management and process improvement also yields to systems analysis, process improvement, project planning, employee training, performance management, performance measurement, and operations planning.
While attending Florida Institute of Technology, as Project Manager of a team of 5 engineers, he won “Best of Show” in Civil Engineering, during the 2012 Engineering and Science Design Showcase.
In his free time, he enjoys reading, gaming, music, traveling, and volunteering at local nonprofits.
Brendan Boehr
Student Project Coordinator
Brendan is a native Canadian and graduate student enrolled in the dual Masters of Science program in Applied Behavior Analysis and Organizational Behavior Management.
He currently assists in the role of Student Project Coordinator in helping create a new certificate program in Biomedical Engineering (with Dr. Larry Hench). In addition, he reviews new online lecture material for online programs, and represent Continuing Education at national conferences.
In his free time he likes to laugh at shivering Floridians who think it's cold outside. He's Canadian.

David Kelley III
Employee Training
David (Dave) Kelley received his undergrad at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in behavior analysis. He now is pursuing his masters in organizational behavior management at Florida Tech.
Dave’s role at Continuing Education consists of using his aba and obm background in providing customer service, informational and student resource training in office to all employees. He works closely with the instructors and director of Continuing Education to provide the most accurate information that is delivered to staff, faculty, and prospective/current students.
In his free time, Dave enjoys reading, literature reviews, and working with computers.

Eric Wells
Learning Management Systems Coordinator
Eric Wells holds a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and is pursuing a master's degree of Software Engineering as well, from Florida Institute of Technology. He chose Software Engineering because of his love of software development and using computers to solve common problems.
As Learning Management Systems Coordinator, his main responsibilities lie in the creation and maintenance of any online courses.

Frank Posser
Registration Clerk
Frank has worked for a number of business establishments ensuring that all expectations were met within each establishment and expectations were exceeded by actively checking with consumers and quickly correcting issues.
He brings, in addition to an eye for detail, a dedication to exceptional customer service. He utilizes these skills by providing good personalized service to each and every call and email interaction between students. Frank also process transcripts, enrollment verification forms, course reciepts and various other essential documents handled within Continuing Education's department.
When not dedicated to his work, Frank enjoys spending time with his son and learning how to enjoy life as a new dad.

Fumiko (Miko) Shinkawa
Course Assistant
Fumiko Shinkawa is a Humanities major at Florida Institute of Technology, currently pursuing her bachelor of arts.
In her current role as Course Assistant, she assists in creating course materials for upcoming courses in order to ensure that the programs that Florida Tech's Continuing Education offers are found by its intended audiences. This work consists, in part, of creating flyers and eye-catching emails, content and more.
In her downtime, she particularly enjoys toting heavy photography equipment, and is an avid video gamer.

Jennifer Bornemann
Project Coordinator
Jennifer Bornemann, Project Coordinator in the Continuing Education Department, holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.
Jennifer has nine years of medical experience, including, medical billing, insurance coordinator, medical assistant, psychological tester, and medical secretary.
These positions have given Jennifer the ability to strive in customer service, enhance her computer skills, and build her dedicated work ethic. Jennifer enjoys her role at the university, especially helping students.

Kaci Kelley
Course Assistant
Kaci Kelley is a Psychology major at Florida Institute of Technology, currently pursuing her bachelor of arts.
Kaci works with a wide range of tasks in regarding responsibilities on assisting staff on state authorizations for higher education. She also helps review new content for the school’s Continuing Education courses. She often assists in managing the course syllabi and texts for upcoming courses.
Kaci also is an all-star student athlete playing for the official women's softball team at Florida Tech.

Katrianna King
Media Production Manager
Katrianna King, Media Production Technician, graduated at the University of North Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Communications.
As Media Production Technician at Florida Tech, Katrianna is responsible for overseeing all operations within the Studio. She directs, edits and facilitates all forms of media content produced for the Continuing Education Department. While holding this position, Katrianna has been involved in revamping the processes and technologies used in producing media content.
Katrianna’s experience comes from a background in editing professional video with companies in Jacksonville. She has used her talents and experience to create a new look and branding for many of the videos being released for the program.
During her free time, Katrianna enjoys watching her favorite TV shows, crafting, and editing her personal work to build her ongoing portfolio. She also has an awesome cat named Paxton.

Kelsey Donahue
Course Assistant
Kelsey Donahue is currently pursuing her business bachelors of science in Global Finance and Management to prepare her for domestic or foreign-based companies involved in international trade or finance.
As course assistant, Kelsey assists Continuing Education on the accuracy of instructional content and video delivery presentations. As well as being efficient and organized, Kelsey completes the review of the department’s data, and occasionally writes course press releases with growing content knowledge.
In addition to her contributions to Continuing Education, she is one of the all-star players on the women’s Florida Tech softball team.

Liana Kangas
Outreach Supervisor
Liana Kangas is currently Outreach Supervisor at Florida Tech and has served in a plethora of roles at Continuing Education since November, 2007. A few of these roles include LMS Coordinator and Student Coordinator. Liana is currently has her Associates of Liberal Arts, but is pursuing her Bachelors of Business Administration and Marketing at Florida Tech.
In her current position she partners with the registration and support staff to coordinate the execution and continual operation of programs and courses in Continuing Education. Among the primary courses, Liana also manages the development, recruiting and operation of the CEU workshops.These workshops are approved for Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BACB) continuing education credit. She also travels across the country promoting Florida Tech and the ABA online program and is a national representative for the program.
In addition to working for the ABA Online Program, Liana has been creating art for several years. She specializes in fine art and styled illustration, and has been showing art all over Florida since 2009.

Martin McKasty
Course Assistant
Martin McKasty is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Business Marketing at Florida Institute of Technology.
As course assistant he works with all of the staff on the advancement of every area in the Continuing Education Department. He also works on progressing all of the social media sites Continuing Education has in order to make them more popular and influential.
In his free time he enjoys bowling competitively and computer gaming.

Michelle Mock
Course Coordinator
Michelle Mock, Course Coordinator, holds a Masters of Art in Communication from Florida Atlantic University. Her responsibility in the Continuing Education Department entails assisting in the progression of Professional Development courses.
Prior to her role as Course Coordinator, Michelle taught undergraduate classes at Florida Atlantic University and facilitated volunteer services in South Florida by working with AmeriCorps. Her academic and non-profit background has helped her understand the importance of continuing education to further improvements in the local community. It is her goal to encourage professional development and continuing education to all professionals in an effort to improve the quality of life.

Patricia Meyer
Registration Clerk
Patricia has worked more than 30 years in various forms of customer service in both the corporate and private sector.
She brings her experience to the registration team and helps in processing new students’ applications, maintaining student records, assisting in facilitating the many continuing education courses offered through Continuing Education's program and expediting course competition certificates.
She is an excellant cook and when she is not baking or working she enjoys camping and spending time with her family and granddaughter.

Silvia Barker
Office Coordinator
Silvia Barker, Office Coordinator, plays a crucial role in the day-to-day happenings of the Florida Tech Continuing Education department.
In addition to keeping the office running smoothly, Silvia is part of the team responsible for processing new students’ applications, including the many continuing education courses offered through our program.
Silvia is a Florida Tech veteran, having worked as a Human Resources Coordinator for the school, as well as the administrative assistant to the president of FIT Aviation.

Stephanie Piontkowski
Grant Program Coordinator
Stephanie Byrd, Grant Program Coordinator in Continuing Education, has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Florida. Stephanie is responsible for recruiting candidates and doing employer outreach for a Department of Labor Grant. She spends a lot of time traveling for career fairs and conferences.
When she’s not in the office, she enjoys decorating her home, and has fun being crafty. She also owns a local event design and planning company.
