Harris Hotel: A Unique On-Campus Experience

AT THIS TIME HARRIS HOTEL IS NOT ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS. Due to the high volume of summer programs taking place on Florida Institute of Technology's campus this summer 2012, Harris Hotel is not available.

Florida Institute of Technology offers a unique on-campus experience: Harris Hotel!  Harris Hotel provides the opportunity for prospective students, visiting families and alumni to stay and dine on campus.  Located in Florida Tech's newest residence complex, Harris Village, the Harris Hotel converts residence hall suites into comfortable, fully-equipped hotel-like suites.

About Harris Village: This modern, red brick five-story (with elevator), air conditioned, furnished, apartment-style residence hall is located on the south side of campus and was opened in August 2008. Harris Village includes outdoor basketball and sand volleyball courts, laundry facilities, vending, and multipurpose rooms with ping pong tables, large-screen TVs, and workout equipment.

About the Apartments: Each apartment includes 4 single bedrooms with 1 extra-long twin bed per bedroom, 2 bathrooms (one tub/shower combo with toilet and one walk-in shower with toilet), two vanity sinks, a living/dining area and full kitchen (full size refrigerator/freezer, stove, dishwasher, microwave, sink). Apartments are also equipped with an emergency panic switch located near the door, which connects directly to Security.

Amenities:  Kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, kitchen tools, toaster, coffee maker and dish towels.  Bathroom amenities include hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and toiletry packet (shampoo, conditioner, soap).  Bedrooms have 300-threadcount sheets, comforter, blanket, and clock radio.  Wireless internet throughout the apartment and 42'' cable television in the living room are provided at no additional cost.  Apartments are also equipped with a weather radio equipped to automatically alert in the event of inclement weather.  Items available upon request include toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, razors/shave foam, feminine needs items, extra towels and washcloths.

Daily Housekeeping is not available.  For stays longer than 3 nights, linens will be replaced and the garbage emptied on day 3, and every third day thereafter.

Payment Information:  $38.85 per person, per night (based on a minimum of double occupancy), which includes all state and local taxes. A valid credit card number (Visa, Mastercard, Discover or Amex) is required as a deposit and will be charged at the conclusion of your stay.  Additionally, all guests will receive $10.50 in "flexcash," which can be used during the stay at the campus dining venues including the new Panther Dining Hall, the Sub Cafe, or Center Court at the Clemente Center. 

Local Area Transportation Service: Brevard County offers a local bus service called Space Coast Area Transit (www.ridescat.com). The closest SCAT bus stop is located on S. Babcock and University Blvd., within walking distance from Harris Village.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations will be accepted at no charge up to 48 hours prior to scheduled arrival.  After that time, your credit card will be charged a non-refundable administrative fee of $35.

Smoking: Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside of campus residential buildings.

Parking: Guests will receive a parking permit that will need to be displayed in their vehicle while on campus. Parking is available in front of Harris Village. There is no additional charge for parking.

Pets: For health, sanitation, public safety and in consideration of others, pets of any sort are prohibited.  Should this policy be violated, a fine of $150 will be assessed to the credit card on record, and teh guests will be asked to leave immediately. Should the guest fail to remove the pet, the animal will be removed by the university at the guest’s expense and the guest may face an additional fine of $75 per day. Any damage, cleaning or pest control costs associated with the presence of an unauthorized pet will be billed to the guest.
