Professional Experience

Dr. Murshid teaches optical electronics, fiber optics and electrical circuit courses at graduate and undergraduate levels. He has served the industry for nearly 10 years in different capacities, including as a consultant for instrumentation, data logging systems, power electronics, fiber optics and electrooptic systems.

Before joining Florida Tech in 1999, Dr. Murshid was working at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Research Institute on a research grant, sponsored by the Office of Naval Research.

Current Research

He is currently performing sponsored research for NASA, developing non-intrusive cryogenic mass flow rate detection and shallow water ocean optical channel estimation for the U.S. Navy and Northrop Grumman. He has published the results of his research endeavors in a number of refereed publications, including chapters for books and encyclopedias. Some other current research projects include:
