Stafford Loans

If you are a first time FL Tech borrower:

1. File a FAFSA -- include School Code 001469
2. Accept Stafford Loan -- choose one of he following:
   • Go to PAWS and navigate to

   Financial Aid --> Accept Award Offer

         or

   • Email the appropriate FAO:

- Melbourne FInancial Aid Office

- University Alliance Financial Aid Office

3. Go to Stafford Lender List and complete three items:
• Select the lender of your choice
• Master Promissory Note (MPN) with lender
• Stafford Entrance Interview

If you are a returning student with a previous Stafford Loan:

1. File your renewal FAFSA using FL Tech School Code 001469
2. Accept Stafford Loan -- choose one of he following::
   • Go to PAWS and navigate to

   Financial Aid --> Accept Award Offer

         or

   • Email the appropriate FAO:

- Melbourne FInancial Aid Office

- University Alliance Financial Aid Office

Note:  FL Tech will automatically submit a loan application to your previous lender unless the lender no longer offers student loans or you have previously identified a new lender choice to the FAO.

Considerations when selecting your lender:

• Students are encouraged to consider a number of lenders
• Students are not limited, nor required, to use lenders on our Lender List
• If you choose a different lender, provide the lender ID and address to the FAO

Note for University Alliance students:  You must select a lender who is able to process more than four disbursements per loan period.
