Reminders

Dear Fraternities and Sororities,

Try to foster good relations with the other organizations around you.  This does not include meddling in their business or spreading rumors, but being friends and treating them almost like they are one of your own.  Friendly competition is the best and only way to make Florida Tech a quality Fraternity and Sorority community.

Alpha Tau Omega Receives Charter

ato crest The Kappa Eta chapter of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity received their charter on November 17, 2007.  This has finally come after a few years of hard work on our campus.  The chapter put forth much effort to reach this ato2 ultimate goal, including initiating 39 members, progressing through the stages of reaching a charter, hosting their first formal, and participating in various community service events.  Congratulations to Alpha Tau Omega, as they are now an integral part of the Florida Tech community.

Gamma Phi Beta's Founders' Day
Gamma Phi Beta
Congratulations to Gamma Phi Beta on their Founder's Day.  Their founders' Day occurred on November 11, 2007.  One hundred and thirty three years ago, four women were brave enough to band together and form a women's fraternity.  Those women had the courage, vision and drive to complete what they thought had never been done before and was impossible to some.  Because of the courage of their founders, they are privileged enough to be able to exist today on 114 college campuses nationwide.  Gamma Phi Beta should be proud of what their sorority is today.  Helen Mary Dodge, Frances E. Haven, Eunice Adeline Curtis and Mary Alice Bingham started the nation's first sorority.  133 years later, the sorority is still going strong.  Once again, congratulations to Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

Pi Kappa Alpha and Gamma Phi Beta win Homecoming

Pike      As the week of Homecoming last month came into full swing, Pike Brother Pekarchik and President of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, Ms. Ashley Romero, were faced with the challenging task of representing the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and Gamma Phi Beta Sorority as king and queen.  Prior to Homecoming, the duo started off with raising money for philanthropic causes by selling pizza and collecting pennies.  As a result, the pair raised over half of the total money collected by all of the organizations participating in the event.  In addition, the two won Penny Wars, Wacky Wars, and placed in the Lip-Sync and Trivia contests. Other events during the week consisted of the Egg Toss, Florida Tech Homecoming Ice-Hockey Game, and the Homecoming Parade.  All of the events throughout the week were hard fought battles and demanded unparalleled efforts.  In the end, however, Brother Pekarchik's and Ashley's fervor to maintain Pike's and Gamma Phi's success was ubiquitous and unsurpassed as the 2007 Florida Tech Homecoming events came to a close and saw the pair as the new king and queen on campus.  Congratulations to the two.
