Security+ Certification Review and Preparation Course


BEMA ServicesFlorida Institute of Technology, in partnership with BEMA Services, is offering a five-day training program for those who desire Security + certification. Information Technology (IT) security professionals from industry and government will be your instructors who will guide you through the objectives for the Computer Technology Industry Association’s (CompTIA) Security+ Certification. This certification has been recognized by the Department of Defense (DOD) as a baseline qualification for duties at the Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II and Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I.

Learning Objectives:

1. Successfully review and prepare for the CompTIA Security+ Exam
2. Identify and communicate information security threats to internal IT systems
3. Learn best practices in hardening internal and internetwork systems
4. Explore concepts in secure network communications and infrastructure
5. Manage a PKI cryptography process and certificates
6. Adopt lessons learned for an effective organizational IT security program
7. Effectively monitor the IT security architecture

Who Should Attend:

Security Administrators, Network Administrators, Network Security Analysts, Information Assurance Officers Level I & II, Information Assurance Managers Level I

Additional Information and Prerequisites:

This is a basic level program with no advanced preparation needed and provides up to 35 CPE credits.

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in network administration with a focus on IT security.
  • Day to day technical information security experience.
  • Broad experience and knowledge of information security concerns and implementation.
  • Recommended you currently hold Network+
