All students arriving from a TB endemic area will be required to have a T Spot Blood Test within the first two weeks of school to determine if you have been exposed to Tuberculosis.  This test is a much more specific test than the past TB Skin test, which resulted in many false positives due to different factors, including the influence of the BCG vaccine. Anyone with a positive result will be required to have a Chest X Ray.

Endemic Areas of the world includes all of the areas of the world that are not listed here: North American Region: U.S.A., Canada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Virgin Islands. A valid record by the students health care provider or other school record is required which documents the test done within the first 3 months of starting school.

A blood test (titer) may also be submitted for MMR or Hepatitis B proof of immunity.  This is generally not covered by insurance.  If the blood test is drawn at FIT and is a covered service under your health insurance plan you may submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement.
