  Senior Web Designer

The Florida Institute of Technology is currently seeking a Senior Web designer. This position supports the university web presence and all web development efforts. This role is a vital component of the Web Services team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: updating existing web pages, design of new web graphics, design of page layouts and site templates, copy editing, client support, site enhancement, and implementation support of site optimization elements as well as strategic planning for new initiatives, and other tasks as required.

Education/Skills required: Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5 plus years of experience in web design principles, 2 plus years of CSS and semantic web principles required, 2 plus years of experience with industry standard graphics software is required, 1-2 years of experience with site optimization, SEO and SEM is required, experience with Flash, 3-D graphics, multimedia integration desired, experience with open source tools and services for social networking and social media desired, and some higher education experience desired.

Professional must also have the ability to produce and edit hand-coded CSS and various aptitudes with regards to semantic web. Must also possess a full understanding of quality metrics including search engine optimization, analytics, SERP monitoring, and site enhancement. Must also be detailed and process oriented, above average customer service skills, teamwork skills, and possess a strong desire to learn and grow.
