June 28–August 3

  • Earn six credit hours and the experience of a lifetime while living, learning and traveling in England and beyond.
  • You will sleep, eat, study and play within the walls of a 16th century Oxford college for five weeks in the summer of 2008.
  • Imagine studying Shakespeare in Oxford and attending plays by the riverside in Oxford, London and Stratford! If Shakespeare is not your cup of tea, perhaps discussing ethics, international marketing or ancient ruins in a café or while biking along the Thames is more your style.
  • Several course options such as CIV 1 and 2, Ethics, Math courses, History of Science and Technology, Marketing and Shakespeare will be available to you (click here for a full listing).
  • Classes will be held only four days per week, allowing you to use your four long weekends for personal travel to places as nearby as London, or as far away as Paris and Ireland.

As if all of these adventures were not enticing enough, we are adding an extra bonus of reduced tuition for participants! You will pay full tuition for your first Oxford course and half price for your second three-hour Oxford course—a savings of over $1,300!

The Oxford program start date of June 28 allows you the option of attending Summer Session 1 at Florida Tech, working to save money for your adventures abroad or traveling through Europe before arriving in Oxford!

Study abroad not only increases your world view, but also your marketability in today’s global marketplace, making your resumé more attractive to future employers and graduate schools. When you study abroad with a Florida Tech program, you can be sure that it is high quality, safe and helps you to fulfill academic requirements needed for graduation.

Information will be widely available on campus this fall, or you can e-mail your questions to hcudmore@fit.edu. Visit the rest of the Web site for full program details.

Lauren at Blenheim Palace gardens

"Doing the Oxford study abroad program was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I had the chance to travel around Europe and live in a different country. It was a great summer. My favorite part of the trip was being able to see the historic and famous sites. I plan on going back one day. The trip is well worth the cost."
