Ryan E. Merritt
2011 Work Study of the Year
Ryan Merritt was nominated for work study of the year because of his willingness to do any task assigned. He offered to work weekends to support the shop during the peak of the senior design project building.

Kathleen Orrico
2010 Work Study of the Year
Kathleen Orrico made several improvements to the shop during 2010. Her ability to make tool holders and other devices to organize the shop made her outstanding. Looking arround the shop you will see many things that she made.

Alex Wong
2009 Work Study of the Year
The 2009 winner is Alex Wong. Alex is an aerospace engineering student. Alex's dedication and work ethic were outstanding. He received a certificate at the April Engineering and Science Student Design Showcase. Later, he was awarded a DeWalt 1/2" cordless drill, from the College of Engineering. The award was started in 2003 by Joao Norona, a mechanical Engineering Alumna.

Robert DeCarreau
2008 Work Study of the Year
This year's winner, Robert DeCarreau is a sophmore in Electrical Engineering. Robert was a great help to all of those working in the shop. He was awarded a DeWalt 1/2" cordless drill. The award was started in 2003 by Joao Norona, a Mechanical Engineering Alumna. Mr. Norona was hired by DeWalt when he graduated from Florida Tech.

Andrea Tromben
2007 Work Study of the Year
This year's winner, Andrea Tromben, is a freshman in Ocean Engineering. Andrea quickly learned machining techniques and became proficient on the CNC mill. Her skills were appreciated by the Senior design teams for whom she made several of parts. Andrea recieved a DeWalt Drill set.

Patrick Brewer
2006 Work Study of the Year
The primary criteria for receiving this award was that the student be dedicated to training other students to be certified on the machines. This year's winner was Patrick Brewer of the class of 2008. Patrick, a Mechanical Engineering major comes to Florida Tech from Washington State. Patrick was the team lead for the Rube Goldberg machine that competed at Northrup Grumman in the spring during national Engineering week.
Pat is an excellent example to other students. He took an interest in the CNC Milltronics machine, and became a first class programmer/operator. Pat received a DeWalt Heavy Duty 1/2 inch cordless compact drill and driver kit.
