Doctoral Psychology Student Earns National Phi Kappa Phi Award

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Rana Moukarzel, a doctoral student in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Florida Institute of Technology, has earned a Phi Kappa Phi national honor society 2012 Love of Learning Award. More than 1,000 applied for the award, which was made to just 140 of the applicants. The award comes with a $500 honorarium.

The selection process for these awards is based on the impact on the applicant’s career or educational goals; academic achievement; leadership and service on campus and in the community; and a personal statement of educational perspective, purpose and objectives.

Moukarzel earned a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from Florida Tech, where she graduated magna cum laude. She received a bachelor’s degree in general psychology, with distinction, from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. She currently serves on the steering committee and is a senior associate consultant of the Institute of Cross Cultural Management at Florida Tech. She has also been working as a human performance technology intern at General Dynamics Information technology in Orlando. Moukarzel has presented at conferences and published numerous professional papers in her field.
