Bill Nye, "The Science Guy," visited Florida Tech Oct. 23 and spoke to a packed crowd at the Gleason Performing Arts Center. A scientist, engineer, comedian, author and inventor, Nye is a man with a mission: to help foster a scientifically literate society, and help people everywhere understand and appreciate the science that makes the world work. Tickets went fast to students who grew up watching on TV the man who can make science entertaining.
Nye participated on a panel with College of Science Dean Hamid Rassoul; biological sciences senior Kyle Dyson; Brian Binggeli, superintendent of Brevard Public Schools; Dale Ketchum, director of the Spaceport Research and Technology Institute; and Adrianne Laffitte, director of Florida Government Affairs, Lockheed Martin. He was later interviewed by WFIT General Manager Terri Wright in the new WFIT 89.5 FM Broadcast Center.
