Simulation and Modeling

The images below take you to a representative series of real-time virtual simulation clips from a variety of projects that Dr. Clifford Bragdon, AICP, FASA (Associate Vice President, Dean and Executive Director of the Global Center of Preparedness at Florida Tech), and his associates have been affiliated with and produced over time. The total range of computer based visualizations in 3-D modeling have included:

  • Transportation/infrastructure (i.e., airports, seaports, transit, maglev, highways, intermodal facilities)
  • Military based simulations (i.e., aircraft, ships, aerial refueling including C-17, B1B, F-15, C-130, KC-10, FA-18, E-2C and A-10),
  • Architectural structures/buildings (i.e., shopping centers, schools residences, hotels, office buildings)
  • Sports and recreational facilities (i.e., football and basketball stadiums, marinas)
  • Also, site development plans, transportation master plans, regional water management districts (e.g., representing hurricane category conditions), and security/emergency response simulations.

The 3-D virtual simulation of the Washington Metro recreates the McPherson Square station identifying all spots that pose a potential security risk, making it an excellent tool for training security personnel and emergency planning.

This simulation of the Huntsville International Airport recreates one of only a handful of U.S. airports that are intermodal in nature (connecting air, rail, road and maritime transportation systems).

Port Everglades, one of the busiest U.S. ports and a major petroleum storage and distribution hub, is currently the only comprehensive real-time simulation of a U.S. port to include an accurate representation of both the landside and aquatic activities (i.e., sea floor courtesy of data supplied by the Army Corps of Engineers).

The simulation of one proposed design for the headquarters of the Global Center for Preparedness, contains the DREAMS(TM) Suite and an image of the Fusion theater.
