Dear Freshman Parent,
Welcome to the Florida Tech family! On behalf of our faculty and staff, I want you to know how delighted we are that your student has decided to begin life’s next chapter at Florida Institute of Technology, where we combine high technology with the human touch.
Over the next four years your student will enjoy research and classroom opportunities rare in today’s higher education. At a time where most universities are seeing larger and larger class sizes, we’re committed to smaller classes and to maintaining our student-to-faculty ratio of 9:1. In addition, we’re committed to helping every undergraduate student, including our freshmen, enjoy the opportunity to participate in research. This is our commitment to the human touch.
You’ll be pleased to know that your student’s university continues to move up in the ranks of objective quality indicators. This fall, the Princeton Review named Florida Tech as one of the Southeast’s best universities, and noted that students must work for every grade. The facilities your student will use to earn these grades continue to improve. The opening of the new F.W. Olin Physical Sciences Building gives the university over 1 million square feet of classroom space. This new building will soon be the home of the state’s largest research telescope, aiding our strong programs in astronomy. Faculty research has also increased, from $18 million in funded research four years ago to more than $41 million today. This is our commitment to providing the best in high technology.
Sincerely,

Anthony James Catanese
