"In recent years, ICAO has fully documented the serious risk of mid-air crashes and runway incursions due to English language communication problems between Air Traffic Controllers and Pilots. ICAO’s new English licensing requirements become effective in March, 2011. As Dean of Florida Institute of Technology’s College of Aeronautics and a former NASA Astronaut I firmly support our university’s Continuing Education efforts to increase public safety worldwide by offering valuable Aviation English training to assist pilots and air traffic controllers in meeting ICAO’s Level Four ‘Operational’ English licensing standards. Our unique blended learning approach truly is high tech with a human touch. Continuing Education works with one of the premiere leaders in international online Aviation English instruction, Aviation English Training (AET) to provide an unsurpassed experience in interactive online self paced instruction plus customized onsite immersion language coaching. Our professors create curriculum materials that support not only diverse learning styles, but also supplement specific industry programs our pilot clients enroll in, whether it is fixed wing or rotor-craft. We invite you to learn more about Florida Institute of Technology and AET with our elite team of partners, academics and industry professionals."
