On-Site Schedule

This 35-hour program is designed to satisfy the 35-hour formal project management training requirement by PMI necessary for PMP certification. Florida Tech offers a variety of courses on-site and online for individuals to choose from. Florida Tech can also customize on-site courses to meet students’ and organizations’ needs.

Master of Science in Project Management

Are you interested in Florida Tech's Master of Science in Project Management degree program?

On-site PMP® Exam Prep Training

Each of our onsite program offerings provides the following benefits:

  • Extended Study Time: Receive course materials prior to the 4-day rapid course with optional half-day when registration is completed 14 days prior to the course start date.
  • Application Assistance: The first class includes understanding and completing the PMP exam application.
  • Passing the Exam: Comprehensive instruction that is focused on the information needed to pass the current version of the PMP examination.
  • Test Readiness: Receive a personal "test readiness barometer," based on individual performance of a simulated PMP practice exam.
  • Refinement: An additional half-day session is available to discuss test strategies based on individual strengths.

4-Day Rapid Course With Optional Half-Day Test Review

Provides an accelerated, intense learning experience that includes 4 days of consecutive training with an optional half-day*.

*In order to meet the required 35 hours of training, submission of the completed practice examination or attendance of the half-day session is required to obtain your certificate of completion.

4-½ Day Extended Course

Provides additional time to complete the application prior to the three consecutive days of intense training.

What is the Refund Policy?

A student who has paid for a course and withdraws prior to the start date of the course will receive a refund of any course fees paid, less a $150 cancellation fee. There are no refunds given one week prior to the course start date.

Certification Information

Are you seeking certification in project management? This 35-hour program is designed to satisfy the 35-hour formal project management training requirement by PMI necessary for PMP® certification. Florida Tech is pleased to announce a variety of courses to include two on-site formats as well as online formats for individuals to choose from.

Online Certified Associate in Program Management (CAPM®)

In this program, you’ll learn the knowledge and skills essential to project managers and those who work on projects in other support roles. The materials in this program are aligned with the international recognized standards of project management. This program is oriented to concepts and knowledge areas such as Time, Cost, Risk and Communications. Each lesson focuses exclusively on a single topic so that you can more easily grasp that topic before moving onto the next.

Online Program Management Preparation (CAPM®)

This program meets or exceeds the educational requirements for those interested in the Project Management Professional PMP® certification. Students who are interested in earning the PMP® credential must schedule and pay for testing on their own after program completion.

This program/course is a good choice for those looking for project management experience and those aspiring to obtain a PMP® credential. It's also an excellent choice for existing credential holders looking for an approved activity for PDUs. At the end of this course, you'll receive a certificate indicating your completion of PDUs equal to the number of hours of this course.

Mark Laposky

Four-Week Course Featuring Five Meetings

After spending the majority of his 30-year career on the Space Shuttle program, Mr. Laposky founded Space Age Projects, LLC, to develop and deliver training materials that cover all aspects of project management. While at Kennedy Space Center, Mr. Laposky supported NASA in numerous capacities that included program/project management for the design and construction of space vehicle processing and launch facilities. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the NASA Exceptional Public Service Medal in 2007.

Mr. Laposky has a BS degree in chemical engineering from the University of South Florida and an MS degree in engineering management from University of Florida. He is a certified project management professional (PMP®) and a Microsoft® certified technology specialist (MCTS®) in MS Project.

During the past 10 years, Mr. Laposky has contributed to the development and delivery of a 3-day project management best practices workshop for United Space Alliance, which he has taught over 25 times. Mr. Laposky applied his project management expertise to developing a successful PMP certification exam preparation workshop, which he has delivered to over 160 managers and engineers on Florida’s Space Coast.

Nikki Choyce, PMP®

Nikki Choyce, PMP, is a seasoned project management practitioner with more than 15 years of experience as a consultant and instructor in the field of project management. She is the president of Infotech Management, a Fort Worth-based project management services firm. In addition to her work responsibilities, she is an active volunteer with the Project Management Institute (PMI), currently serving as an officer in the local PMI chapter.

Frank Greenwood

Frank Greenwood has managed projects for many years in North America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Author of Meeting the Challenges of Project Management and a certified project management professional, he's listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.

Following a stint in the international oil business, Frank earned a Ph.D. from UCLA and eased into academia. As a professor and computer center director, he's authored or co-authored eight books and many published articles. Married, with three grown children, he and his wife live near Detroit, Michigan.
