Certification Information

Are you seeking certification in project management? This 35-hour program is designed to satisfy the 35-hour formal project management training requirement by PMI necessary for PMP® certification. Florida Tech is pleased to announce an online format for individuals.

Who should attend? Project managers, directors, coordinators, analysts and project team members; PMO directors; IT project managers; lead engineers and systems engineers; unit managers and supervisors; senior and mid-level product managers; small business owners and any individuals seeking the PMP or CAPM® credential who wants to make project management their chosen profession.

Most courses include 35 hours of intensive training based on the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge® (PMBOK®). The program teaches the fundamentals of project management as defined in the PMBOK and translates that learning into success on the PMP certification exam.

Online Certified Associate in Program Management (CAPM®)

In this program, you’ll learn the knowledge and skills essential to project managers and those who work on projects in other support roles. The materials in this program are aligned with the international recognized standards of project management. This program is oriented to concepts and knowledge areas such as Time, Cost, Risk and Communications. Each lesson focuses exclusively on a single topic so that you can more easily grasp that topic before moving onto the next.

Online Program Management Preparation (CAPM®)

This program meets or exceeds the educational requirements for those interested in the Project Management Professional PMP® certification. Students who are interested in earning the PMP® credential must schedule and pay for testing on their own after program completion.

This program/course is a good choice for those looking for project management experience and those aspiring to obtain a PMP® credential. It's also an excellent choice for existing credential holders looking for an approved activity for PDUs. At the end of this course, you'll receive a certificate indicating your completion of PDUs equal to the number of hours of this course.

Nikki Choyce, PMP®

Nikki Choyce, PMP, is a seasoned project management practitioner with more than 15 years of experience as a consultant and instructor in the field of project management. She is the president of Infotech Management, a Fort Worth-based project management services firm. In addition to her work responsibilities, she is an active volunteer with the Project Management Institute (PMI), currently serving as an officer in the local PMI chapter.

Frank Greenwood

Frank Greenwood has managed projects for many years in North America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Author of Meeting the Challenges of Project Management and a certified project management professional, he's listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.

Following a stint in the international oil business, Frank earned a Ph.D. from UCLA and eased into academia. As a professor and computer center director, he's authored or co-authored eight books and many published articles. Married, with three grown children, he and his wife live near Detroit, Michigan.
