Business of Project Management
Overview:
This ½-day (4-hr) Business of Project Management Workshop explores the business side of project management and
addresses the organizational considerations that are necessary to make successful projects an organizational norm.
This workshop is delivered via face-to-face instruction with a content that is process oriented,enabling its
application to a wide variety of business environments. Participants are provided with project management knowledge
and skills that can be effectively applied within their organization. Participants will be introduced to many of
the best practices of project management. They will be exposed to the details of project initiation – a process
that relies heavily on activities that are performed outside the project team. The workshop includes an overview of
structured and effective processes for project planning, performance and closing that will enhance the application
of project management methodologies.
Senior executives, functional managers, project managers, team members and stakeholders will all benefit from
participating in this workshop.
Objectives:
Following this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Identify the organizational assets and activities that are essential for projects to be successful in their
business environment

Earned Value Management
Overview:
This 1-day (8-hr) Earned Value Management Workshop covers the fundamental processes necessary to makeEVM an
effective practice in your organization. The content of this workshop can be applied to a wide variety of projects
– commercial or government, large or small. It is delivered via face-to-face instruction, includes many hands-on
exercises, and provides participants with EVM skills that they will be able to apply in their
workplace.Participants will be shown the basic concepts of earned value – all of the necessary metrics. They will
be exposed to the project management methodologies required to effectively develop a project plan so that earned
value (EV) reporting can be easily done. Additionally, participants will be presented with project performance
considerations that will enhance their use of EVM.
Project managers, functional managers, team members, stakeholders and cost estimators will all benefit from
participating in this Earned Value Management Workshop.

- Describe the basic EVM metrics
- Identify the best methods for measuring true work progress
