Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Science in Aeronautics
Florida Tech's interdisciplinary science degree exposes students to a wide range of science courses, giving them considerable flexibility in the design of their major. The aeronautics specialty is designed for science-minded students wishing to pursue a career in the aviation industry. As an interdisciplinary science college, Florida Tech graduates develop well-rounded expertise in science, mathematics, technology and aeronautics.
Professors Dedicated to Their Students
Because of our small class size and close-knit academic community, students at Florida Tech have a huge advantage over another interdisciplinary science college. Students develop strong working relationships with professors during internships, research and other educational experiences.
Florida Tech professors also actively promote student involvement in technical research, often starting as early as the first year of study. One of the best preparations that a student attending an interdisciplinary science college can have if they want to attend graduate school is to become an author on a published paper. Florida Tech professors make this goal attainable. Faculty members have research interests in sustainability, high-energy physics, coastal management, international education, space systems, sports education, athletics and climate change.
High-Tech Laboratory Facilities
An interdisciplinary science college needs to be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and Florida Tech is up to the challenge. The quality of our facilities and laboratories make Florida Tech an interdisciplinary science university of choice. The 68,500-sq.-ft. F.W. Olin Engineering Complex houses 26 specialized research laboratories and the 37,000-sq.-ft. F.W. Olin Life Sciences Building houses teaching and research laboratories -- all equipped with twenty-first century technology. In addition, interdisciplinary science majors have access to Career Management Services and the Career Resource Center.
Great Florida Location Surrounded by High Tech Companies
You would be hard-pressed to find another interdisciplinary science college with the same sought-after Florida location as Florida Tech. The campus is located on the Space Coast, which is close to thousands of high-tech companies, perfect for research opportunities and internships, as well as future jobs. Florida Tech is a short drive to Orlando tourist attractions and NASA's Kennedy Space Center.
Students enjoy beautiful weather year-round and easy access to 72 miles of Atlantic Coast beaches and the Indian River Lagoon, the most diverse estuary in North America.
