Construction is One Industry That is Always in Demand
The construction industry is more susceptible to economic factors than other careers. History shows that no matter the economic climate, construction continues to be in demand and there is always a demand for new homes, businesses, remodeling and improvements to infrastructure. You might wonder, is construction management a good career?
To help answer that question, look to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, published by the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The handbook provides information about specific jobs including median annual pay, working conditions and job outlook, among other things.
The BLS reports that jobs in construction are anticipated to rise by 17% between 2010 and 2020. Construction managers will be needed as the level and variety of construction projects expand due to population and business growth and as technology and increased specifications change for construction methods and standards. So to answer the question is construction management a good career....yes!
