What is a Business Administration degree?
A Business Administration degree from Florida Tech means leadership and success. Students develop a background in the science of management, gain relevant skills in the various business disciplines and build a portfolio of practical, hands-on experience. A capstone business practicum will prepare you for a career in law, information systems, economics, finance and marketing.

Learning

Research: Business and environmental studies students have participated in the economic impacts study of the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival, a premier ecotourism event. Faculty/student research papers have been presented at conferences including the Industrial Engineering and Management Systems Conference in Cocoa Beach, Fla., and the IAPAD conference in Orlando, Fla. Six students participated in a faculty research inquiry for a Ron Jon Surf Shop grant. Marketing Principles students conducted primary research for the Florida National Guard and organized an event that garnered 1.25 million impressions for the client.
Internships and Cooperative Learning: All Business Administration degree students complete a Business Practicum in the second semester of their senior year. The practicum bridges the gap between classroom studies and the real world, easing the transition from business student to industry professional. Students are matched with a host organization of interest to them where they will conduct a "live case analysis" of the organization. Company partners include: Northrop Grumman, Clear Channel Outdoor, Merrill Lynch, State Farm, NASA, Kennedy Space Center, and many others.
Future Outcomes
Outcomes - Grad School: After graduation, Business Administration degree students have an excellent background in the business and management fields and can directly enter the job market, in commerce, industry, government or other areas. Many students wish to continue into graduate school or enter one of the professional fields such as law, where they will have had an excellent undergraduate preparation. A number of our Business Administration degree graduates attend graduate school. In addition to continuing their studies at Florida Tech, recent graduates have attended the University of Central Florida, George Mason University, Pennsylvania State University, Stetson Law School and the University of Miami.
