Sign In—Financial Aid check-in is online. Fall 2008 online check-in begins August 11, and must be completed from a computer logged into the campus TRACKS network. New students must complete check-in via Panther Pass from PAWS. Returning students go to www.fit.edu/financialaid for a link to their check-in. Check-in must be completed before Friday, September 5.
Disbursement of Fall 2008 Financial Aid—All financial aid is scheduled to disburse into your student account on Wednesday, August 13. New students and new borrowers must complete the master promissory note (MPN) for Perkins and Stafford Loans before those loans will be disbursed. Students with Stafford Loans must also complete an online entrance interview. Entrance interview and MPN sites may be accessed from www.fit.edu/financialaid. Other financial aid requirements can prevent your aid from disbursing. Check your student account via PAWS at the beginning of each semester and periodically until all financial aid has been received.
Book vouchers—A book voucher is not needed if your financial aid has disbursed into your student account and you have a credit (negative) balance showing on your PAWS account. If you do not have a credit balance, but pending aid exceeds the balance due, you may get a book voucher from financial aid beginning Thursday, August 14.
Refund Checks—Students with a credit (negative) balance showing in PAWS may request a refund from the Office of Student Accounting after the first day of class. Questions regarding refund policy, procedures and dates should be addressed to that office.
Financial Aid Applications for the 2009–2010 School Year—Students with Federal Student Aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each school year. The 2009–2010 FAFSA can be filed any time after January 2, 2009, but the priority deadline date for filing the FAFSA is March 1, 2009. Go to www.FAFSA.gov.
