Excellence in research is vital to the development of a world-class university. A healthy and growing research program helps us to recruit the best faculty and the best students. It is the one activity that stands above all others in establishing the reputation and quality of the institution and is essential for graduate education.
Research teaches graduate students to define problems and find solutions that benefit society in general and benefits many industries in particular. Those students who choose to pursue doctoral degrees learn not only to become experts in their specific discipline, but they also learn how to seek out and secure funding for their future research.
Our office of Research and Graduate Studies provides the support staff and infrastructure to ensure optimum success for obtaining research sponsorship. In the last few years, Florida Tech’s faculty has excelled in seeking and receiving funding for their research. At any given time, Florida Tech faculty members have more than $27 million in active contracts and grants. |
