IT maintains a ScanMark
2250 optical mark reader as a data entry
tool along with a PC running Windows 2000
and several customized software packages..
Faculty
Support
Faculty who wish to grade
multiple choice exams can use this setup.
The ParScore software allows an instructor
to set up a roster for his class at the
beginning of the term and maintain records
of all exams and quizzes. Item
analyses and other statistics can be
extracted.
Freshman
Placement Testing
Freshman placement
testing is done before the beginning of the
fall and spring semesters. Exams are
scored using the ScanMark 2250 and results
are processed using SPSS statistical package
to place the students in the appropriate
math, communications and chemistry courses.
Faculty
Evaluations
Faculty evaluations are
done at the end of each term and are
processed using the ScanMark 2250 and SPSS
software.
Survey and Research Support
Using a software package
called ScanBook, form definitions can be
created to process other types of forms.
Thus we can offer assistance in the
processing of survey data for research
projects.
It is very
important that we discuss the project and
select the appropriate form before the
