Subject: FW: EMBA study abroad for fall 2007 Attachments: 2-CM courses-final list.xls; 3-CM electives list.xls From: Prof Ralph V. I've attached the revised program and list of electives. I'm available until about 3pm. Basically we did the following: 1. added ASC 1000 - University Experience 2. changed our technical electives to "Restricted Electives (CON)" which gives us control of the elective, but still allows some flexibility 3. reduced our list of electives to remove the 1000 & 2000 series courses and cross checked the pre-requisites 4. changed the Safety course to a "Restricted Elective (CON)"... this removes the problem of the summer course sequence. 5. added the Safety course to the list of electives We continue to work the budget with Ray Bonhomme and Gary Hamme. I expect that will be resolved next week. We are also researching the minimum faculty requirements for accreditation with ACCE. Thanx for your help... I'm off to Tennessee with our Concrete Canoe team, back in the office on Monday. Ralph Prof. Ralph V. Meant to call you today but the day went downhill fast with students and registration. I wanted you to know that I made all of the corrections that were recommended last Friday. I can come over tomorrow morning and show you the changes. I am leaving for Univ of Tennessee with our Concrete Canoe team tomorrow nite, will be back on Monday. As mentioned before, Liz Fox has reviewed all of our forms. I still have a few corrections to make for her, but nothing material. I plan to do that next week. We have submitted our budget to Dr. McKay and he has referred it to Ray Bonhomme, and others, for analysis. We have been passing alternatives back and forth via email and will probably meet with them sometime next week to discuss the any remaining differences, after which a final recommended budget will be submitted to Dr. McKay for decision. I believe that process will move to a conclusion in the near future. As for the Curriculum Committee's part, given your workload and our timing, I respectfully request that the Committee to pass on the academic merit of the program on Friday and forward that recommendation to Dr. McKay so that when the budget recommendation reaches him he will have all the elements for a final decision in hand. Timing is important at this point because Gary Hamme will need to begin recruiting ASAP, if the program is approved. I had the feeling from your concluding remarks last Friday that it would not be necessary for me to attend on Friday. If need be, Dr. Kalajian is available to attend in my behalf. I will give you a call tomorrow morning and plan to come to your office for your approval of the changes. Thanx for your assistance and patience, Ralph Prof. Ralph V.
