Admission Information

Course Equivalency Guide for Examination Credit

Students who have demonstrated proficiency in certain subject areas through placement or equivalency examinations may receive credit upon enrolling at Florida Tech. If you have taken Advanced Placement (AP), College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), International Baccalaureate (IB) or American Council of Education (ACE) or Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) exams, you may be eligible to receive credit. Cambridge A-Level Examination Credit

Credit is awarded for Cambridge A-Level examinations for passing scores as detailed be low.

ACE Transfer Credit

Credit is only considered for Military Course Completions when listed on an official ACE SMARTS or AARTS transcript or for Military Training Credit listed on an official Coast Guard Institute transcript.

Credit is awarded based on ACE recommendation and Florida Tech transfer credit policy.

Florida Tech expects students to take any ACE examinations before enrollment. Although a student may take these examinations while enrolled at Florida Tech, they may do so only with the permission of their major department and college dean. Credit earned from ACE is excluded from the three-course limit that applies to the study at another institution policy. Contact the registrar’s office for further information.

Advanced Placement (AP) Examination Credit

Credit is awarded for the College Board Advanced Placement (AP) examinations on which a student scores four or higher, as detailed below.
