How I Spent My Summer

While most college students look forward to a summer break filled with carefree days at the beach or catching up with friends and family in their hometowns, Florida Tech students often have greater expectations for summertime fun- turning the old adage "lazy days of summer" upside down! Adam "We are working with NASA on this project, and it is directly related to current missions using expendable launch vehicles." Amy D. "I worked with the park's archeologist, doing mostly underwater archeology. Not only was I living in a duplex with a balcony looking over the ocean, I was snorkeling at least two days out of the week."
Dustin "When we traveled to Paris, Edinburgh and Bath, we got to see for ourselves the history and culture that you only get to read about in America." Laura "I lost count of how many NASA scientists, engineers and managers I met during the NASA Academy program who have gotten degrees from Florida Tech."
Isaac "We identified nine new Delta Scuti variable stars. Together with our collaborator, we are preparing a paper for submission to a professional astronomical journal." Amy P. "Now we are in Exmouth, just arrived today and tomorrow we board our dive boat for three days of diving, including one day with whale sharks. I'm so excited!"
Derek "My specific title with ManTech was officially level 1, electronics technician. I traveled to Antananarivo, Madagascar; Maputo, Mozambique; and Tokyo, Japan." Lasida "Las Vegas is a city that has so much to offer to both tourists and local residents. Even though I was working the entire time, it felt as if I was still having a summer vacation."
Nick "On the weekends, my roommates and I took trips to Paris, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Stratford upon Avon, London, Cambridge, Stonehenge and we even played golf at St. Andrews..." Theresa "...voiced my second commercial today. So, if you happen to hear a commercial for a Dr. Castellano, laser surgery doctor, then I am the girl who is being told about the procedures. A+ for my acting abilities!"
Ron "Being in a room with about $5 million worth of equipment and being able to play around is definitely cool!" Gwen "I had a great summer hiking over 400 miles of some of the most beautiful land in the country and felt honored to be chosen to guide the scouts through their challenging journeys."
Integrated Ideas "The most prevalent projects we worked on over the summer were database driven web applications and data management systems. We've also done work in the financial planning, real estate, accounting, Christian music and social entertainment industries."
