How I spent my summer… Nick Evancho Junior, Aviation Management Palm Bay, Fla. Have you ever studied at a college known around the world for its academic prestige? Well I had that opportunity this summer through Florida Tech’s study abroad program. When the opportunity was presented to study at Oxford for six weeks, I did not hesitate to attend. Waking up everyday to the scene of 500-year-old buildings just is a great start to the day. The classes were very interesting and exciting. The classes were definitely not the only reason I attended Oxford. To tell the truth, it was to be able to travel overseas and see sites that I had only seen on the television before. On the weekends, my roommates and I took trips to Paris, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Stratford upon Avon, London, Cambridge, Stonehenge and we even played golf at St. Andrews, the same course at which many golfers, such as Jack Nicklaus, made their name. Studying in Oxford this past summer was the opportunity of a lifetime, and I am just so pleased that Florida Tech offered this program. The places that we visited were just all so remarkable. Being able to see the different customs and the cultures of people around the world was a great learning experience and I will never forget that.
