About Your Florida Tech Email

Effective August 25, 2003, the University will implement its new policy on the use of your Florida Tech email address as the official University communication medium. The standardized email will allow for rapid communication to all students for official announcements.

Students will be responsible for all communication from University administration, faculty and staff sent to your @fit.edu email address. As a result of this new policy, it is important that all students check their email at this address on a regular basis. Since class related material may be sent to this address,check your mail daily.

If you have another account that you want to forward your @fit.edu email to, you can follow the instructions for forwarding your email located at http://www.it.fit.edu/tracks/email/ .

- Go to the Technology Support Center (Quad Building, Room 7) and fill out an Account Request Form. You must have your Florida Tech ID.

Test the vacation script by sending yourself a message.
- Your TRACKS password must:
- be at least 6 characters (6-8 is good).
- have at least 4 alphabetic characters.
- have at least 1 numeric character
- Go to https://webaccess.fit.edu/mail
- Login with your current username and password.
- Click on password.
- Enter your old (current) password.
- Enter the new password and verify new password.
- Click submit
You will have to go to the Technology Support Center (Quad Building, Room 7) to fill out a change password form. You can not change it over the telephone. You must have your Florida Tech ID.
In order to receive university distributed E-mail it is important to use your assigned "@fit.edu" (TRACKS) address. SquirrelMail is a web interface mail package that will enable you to read send, and manage messages remotely. You can find it at https://webaccess.fit.edu/mail .
