ABA Online Graduate Certificate Programs

Behavior Analyst & Assistant Behavior Analyst Certificates

Students taking these ABAI-verified course sequences are considered less than half-time status, and traditional (FAFSA-based) financial aid options are not available. However, several financing options are available to those who qualify.

Sallie Mae Smart Option Student Loan

If you are interested in applying for the Sallie Mae Smart Option Student Loan, you may do so by:

Important: You may request loan certificates to cover up to three semesters of coursework at a time. The maximum amount allowed per semester is $3,630. The total maximum allowed for a loan request covering three semesters of coursework is $10,890.

Advantage Education Loan

Eligibility varies, not available in all states. If you are interested in applying for the Advantage Education Loan, you may do so by:

  • Contacting Advantage by telephone at (800) 988-6333
  • Applying online at https://www.advantageeducationloan.com/ael/ael/homepage.faces
  • Please note: Advantage loans may be applied to up to three semesters if they occur in the same academic year (ex. fall ’20 – summer ’21).  You are not able to cross academic years with the same loan. Therefore, if you request an Advantage loan in spring you can apply it to spring and summer. If requesting the Advantage loan in summer, it can only be used for summer semester. A new loan will need to be requested in July for the next academic year beginning in fall for as many semesters needed within that academic year (ex. fall ’21 – summer ’22).

Military and Related Benefits

GI Bill: The ABA Online programs may qualify for benefits through the G.I. Bill. Visit the Military and Veteran Student Services web pages for more information. If you have further questions, they can be reached at MVSS@fit.edu.

MyCAA: Students with eligible MyCAA benefits may be able to use their funding toward the Assistant Behavior Analyst Graduate Certificate program. Please email the program administrator, Chuck Conerity, at cconerity@fit.edu for more information.

Americorps: Eligible students may use the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award toward the fifth edition ABA Online graduate certificate programs. For more information, please email studentacctg@fit.edu.


Using Financial Aid Funds for Textbooks

Since our partnership with MBS Direct does not allow the use of future or anticipated loan funds to purchase books, students may need to purchase textbooks with their own funds and use their financial aid refund to reimburse themselves.
