Students taking this ABAI-verified course sequence are considered less than half-time status, and traditional (FAFSA-based) financial aid options are not available. However, several financing options are available to those who qualify.

Sallie Mae Smart Option Student Loan

If you are interested in applying for the Sallie Mae Smart Option Student Loan, you may do so by:

Important: You may request loan certificates to cover up to three semesters of coursework at a time. The maximum amount allowed per semester is $3,630. The total maximum allowed for a loan request covering three semesters of coursework is $10,890.

Advantage Education Loan

Eligibility varies, not available in all states. If you are interested in applying for the Advantage Education Loan, you may do so by:

  • Contacting Advantage by telephone at (800) 988-6333
  • Applying online at https://www.advantageeducationloan.com/ael/ael/homepage.faces
  • Please note: Advantage loans may be applied to up to three semesters if they occur in the same academic year (ex. fall ’20 – summer ’21).  You are not able to cross academic years with the same loan. Therefore, if you request an Advantage loan in spring you can apply it to spring and summer. If requesting the Advantage loan in summer, it can only be used for summer semester. A new loan will need to be requested in July for the next academic year beginning in fall for as many semesters needed within that academic year (ex. fall ’21 – summer ’22).

AmeriCorps

You are able to use the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award towards the fifth edition ABA online graduate certificate programs.  It is fast and easy to access your national service participant account in My AmeriCorps. To register, go to https://my.americorps.gov/mp/login.do and click on Register to create a new Member/Alum account. Then follow the instructions provided on the website.

GI Bill

The ABA Online program is eligible for students to use their Post-9-11 (GI Bill) benefits for the courses. To use those benefits, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs requests that students be registered as degree-seeking students and apply to the university. If you plan to use veterans benefits to fund either of the ABA Online fifth edition certificate programs, please contact our office by phone at 321-674-8382, option 2, or by email at abareg@fit.edu, and we'll help you get started.


MyCAA Benefits

The Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts program (MyCAA) offers eligible military spouses worldwide up to $4,000 in financial assistance to help pay for licenses, certifications and education in high growth, high-demand, portable career fields.

Visit the MyCAA web page on the Military OneSource website. Once at the website, submit your information and, if you are approved, simply forward the two-page digital confirmation letter you receive to abareg@fit.edu. You will then be contacted to begin your enrollment. Any other questions you may have can also be sent to abareg@fit.edu.


Using Financial Aid Funds for Textbooks

Since our partnership with MBS Direct does not allow the use of future or anticipated loan funds to purchase books, students may need to purchase textbooks with their own funds and use their financial aid refund to reimburse themselves.
