Biomedical Engineering Research
Biomedical engineering is a diverse field emphasized in applying and developing engineering methods and concepts to study biological systems and improve diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Our faculty and research topics reflect this diversity. Biomedical engineering research at Florida Tech includes: the development and characterization of novel biomaterials and tissue used in novel therapies and for targeted drug delivery, the engineering of novel biocompatible devices to treat and prevent diseases, the use of computational methods and algorithms for testing the effectiveness of novel therapies, the development of novel noninvasive techniques to detect diseases such as cancer, stroke, and Parkinson's disease.
