If you are interested in being a Co-op applicant, you will want to begin by writing a strong résumé, practicing your interviewing skills, and learning how to conduct a job search. Career Services is available to assist you with these. Please see our list of services here.
If you are a freshman or do not have much work experience to notate on your résumé, you can use this résumé worksheet to help you get started. You can also use one of our sample résumé templates to help you build your format. Once you are satisfied that your résumé represents you, you will want to upload it to your profile.
After recieving a written job offer, contact the Co-op Advisor, Kaylen Kyle, via email at kkyle@fit.edu to recieve the Co-op Application Packet that will be completed by you and your academic advisor. If you are an international student, you will also need to complete the CPT form with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).
All students are responsible for finding a work experience and applying for Co-op on their own. There are several job search sites that you can use to assist you with your job search, including Handshake, CareerShift, LinkedIn, and others. In addition, Career Services is available to assist you with your job search. Email us at career@fit.edu or log into your Handshake account to select an appointment time that's convenient for you.
