All drivers of University owned, leased, rented or borrowed vehicles must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license. Authorization to drive a university vehicle is conditioned upon confirmation of a satisfactory driving record. If the department of motor vehicles report includes serious citations, such as driving under the influence, reckless driving or other significant moving violations, the employee or student will not be permitted to drive any Florida Tech vehicle.
Prospective drivers of university vehicles must be approved by the Office of Risk Management. In order to obtain approval the following information must be submitted via the MVR Florida Tech Consent Form and the Florida Tech MVR Spreadsheet Template (both documents must be completed and forwarded to Risk Management):
The driving history of authorized drivers will be checked on an annual basis through the relevant state’s department of motor vehicles. Once we receive the results from the DMV, your supervisor will be notified of your eligibilty to drive university vehicles. Please allow 2-3 days for processing the request. Please submit renewals at least one week prior to expiration.
Any claim involving university or rental property must be reported to the Office for Risk Management within 24 hours of the incident whether on or off campus. In case of an accident, see below.
