Starting August 14, 2020.
Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) has taken extraordinary steps to protect the health and well-being of all members of the university community during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the exact methods of spread and contraction of the coronavirus are poorly understood, and there is no known treatment, cure, or vaccine for COVID-19. Evidence has shown that COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illness.
Despite the social distancing, sanitization, and other steps taken by Florida Tech to foster the health of all students, faculty, staff, and university visitors, COVID-19 is a widespread virus, and due to its general spread within the community, there is a potential risk of exposure to the student body, employees, and general population.
Florida Tech cannot prevent you from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while on its premises or participating in its educational or other activities. It is impossible to guarantee that the disease is not present. Therefore, if you choose to utilize Florida Tech’s services or enter onto the university’s premises, please know that you may be exposing yourself to COVID-19 and are agreeing to assume this risk.
Understanding these difficult circumstances, as a Visitor on the Florida Tech campus, I commit to the following:
