Biomedical Instrumentation Laboratory (LINK Building, Room 308)
This laboratory is used for both teaching undergraduate and graduate classes and as well as for research. Focus of this laboratory is to expose students to various biomedical related measurement techniques and processing of the measured data.
Biomedical Computation Laboratory (LINK Building, Room 309)
This laboratory is equipped with an instructor workstation and 16 computer workstations which will be used for both teaching undergraduate and graduate classes and as well as for research related to biomedical computing.
Biomechanics and Biomaterials Laboratory/Quantum Biology Lab (LINK Building, Room 349)
This laboratory will be offering several compression and tension test devices used to test samples under repeated cycles of stress for biomedical applications.
Functional Biomaterials Laboratory (LINK Building, Room 313, 315)
This laboratory is focused on the development of biomimetic materials for functional tissue engineering applications. It is equipped with cell culture equipment, a 3D bioprinter (Regemat), a Q800 dynamic mechanical analyzer (TA Instruments) and a state-of-the-art Raman microscope system (Renishaw). It also houses an inverted 4-color fluorescent microscope with differential interference contrast and polarizing light capabilities (Zeiss) and a Spectromax M2e spectrophotometer (Molecular Devices) with PC interface.
Cell Culture and Histology Laboratory (LINK Building, Room 351)
This laboratory is equipped with a fluorescence microscope, cold ethylene oxide sterilizer and steam autoclave, humidified CO2 incubator, macro/micro refrigerated centrifuge, an automated cell counter, a Sakura Tissue Tek cryostat and a laminar flow hood/safety cabinet coupled to an aspiration system. This laboratory should provide all the amenities for keen cell culture research and histology analysis.
Cardiovascular Research Laboratory (LINK Building, Room 358)
This laboratory focuses on research in developing innovative techniques and devices for the detection and therapy of cardiovascular diseases. One example is using ultrasound technology, contrast agents and stem cells to repair vascular damage caused by stent placement.
Laser, Optics, and Instrumentation Laboratory (Olin Engineering Building, Room 109)
This laboratory has pulsed lasers, high power continuous wave lasers, fast detectors, various optics for applications related to cancer / tumor detection and therapy.
High Resolution Microscopy and Advanced Imaging Center (Olin Life Sciences Building, Room 128)
This center supports light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, focused ion beam microscopy, and X-ray microanalysis of natural and artificial materials. The center provides an array of high resolution microscopic equipment for multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary science and engineering research and development.
