Hello! I have been teaching computer science and software engineering courses at FIT since January, 1998. The courses I teach include SWE5001, CSE 5636, CSE 5281, and CSE 5290.
My academic background includes degrees from Florida State University (BA), George Washington University (MA), the University of Maryland (MSIT), and Catholic University (PhD).
My employment history includes teaching computer science courses at Montgomery College (Maryland), George Washington University, The University of Maryland, and the US Coast Guard Academy.
I held positions in the Federal Aviation Administration, the Center for Naval Analyses, and DDLOmni Engieering LLC (where I am presently a senior staff member supporting the VX-1 US Navy squadron at Patuxent River NAS).
My home is in Silver Spring, MD. I enjoy teaching and look forward to interacting with students.
Dr. Breitler lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife, Elaine, a speech pathologist. They have 2 children and 6 grandchildren.
