Dr. Knoll received her B.S. in Mathematics Education from Florida Technological University (now University of Central Florida) in 1977. Employed as a member of the Math Department at Florida Institute of Technology since 1977, she also earned her M.S. in 1980 and her Ph. D. in Science Education (with major technical area of mathematics and minor in computer science) in 1990 at FIT.
She is currently Full Professor in Mathematical Sciences Department and has taught at Florida Tech since 1977.
She was the first author of two textbooks:
1) Discovering Calculus with Mathematica
2) Discovering Linear Algebra with Mathematica.
Her current interests include improving calculus instruction (using technology, etc.) and teacher training.
Alpha Phi Omega founding member and faculty advisor at Florida Tech.
Past President of Phi Kappa Phi (academic honor fraternity) and lifetime member.
