Personal Overview

Dr. Mesa-Arango heads the Transportation Engineering branch for the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology. He is an expert in freight logistics and transportation network modeling with a Ph.D. from Purdue University. Dr. Mesa-Arango has multiple publications in top transportation research journals, presentations in recognized conferences, and several awards. He has research experience and interest in areas related to mathematical programming, simulations, networks, algorithm design, behavioral modeling, traffic assignment, disaster management, transportation economics, and transportation planning.
