Professional Experience

Dr. Jones' training, job experience, and research interests are in the field of computational mathematics.  Dr. Jones' research focuses on parallel multigrid solvers. Dr. Jones was the the PI on the grant, MRI: Acquisition of a Computational Science and Engineering Parallel Cluster, National Science Foundation, 2009-2013, which helped purchase the Blueshark cluster at Florida Tech.

Before coming to Florida Tech, he worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) on parallel solvers for partial differential equations.  He was one of the developers of the hypre package, a library of fast parallel solvers.

Prior to LLNL, Dr. Jones held a post-doc position at the Institute for Computer Applications in Science and Engineering (ICASE) at NASA Langley.
