Personal Overview

Julie C. Moore, M.S., is an Assistant Professor of Aviation Science at the Florida Institute of Technology. Julie graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Factors. Julie has flown the F-16 “Viper” in various assignments around the world since completing Pilot Training in 2002. She has been an Instructor Pilot since 2006, and has over 1500 hours of jet time. From 2007 to 2010, Julie was assigned to the US Air Force Aggressors, where she instructed fighter pilots across the Air Force on adversary systems and tactics, specializing in infra-red systems. In 2012, Julie earned a Master of Science in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Conservation Biology. Her thesis provided an analytical tool and reporting scheme with which to assess the health of seagrass beds in Biscayne Bay, Florida, in light of major estuarine salinity changes under the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP). In addition to teaching at Florida Tech, Julie continues to fly F-16’s in the US Air Force Reserves.
