ASCE Student Chapter

The American Society of Civil Engineers is devoted to introducing students of all disciplines to a competitive and educational environment. This is done through competing in events geared towards engaging students both mentally and physically. Members develop technical and team-building skills, while also accomplishing the most important goal of all, having fun. Each year, students prepare for the regional competition in hopes of returning to the national stage. The 2023 Florida Tech ASCE students competed in the 2023 ASCE Southeast Student Symposium (often regarded as the most difficult conference in the country) hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. Out of the 19 universities competing, Florida Tech placed 8th overall. Our hard work in the UESI Surveying competition resulted in an invitation to compete in the ASCE UESI Surveying Society-Wide Competition, which is one of the National Competitions at the 2023 ASCE Civil Engineering Student Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, June 10-12, 2023. Florida Tech is honored to be able to compete at the national level. We would love to show everyone how our sponsors support and believe in us.

The Florida Tech ASCE students competed in the 2023 ASCE Southeast Student Symposium hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. Out of the 19 universities competing, Florida Tech placed 8th overall. For the major competitions, we placed:

•    1st in Concrete Canoe Men’s Sprints
•    2nd in Concrete Canoe Women’s Sprints
•    2nd in Concrete Canoe Woman’s Slalom
•    2nd in UESI Surveying
•    3rd for Best Concrete Canoe Product
•    3rd for Professional Paper

Our placement in UESI Surveying resulted in an invitation to compete in the ASCE UESI Surveying Society-Wide Competition, which is one of the National Competitions at the 2023 ASCE Civil Engineering Student Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, June 10-12, 2023. Florida Tech is honored to be able to compete at the national level. We would love to show everyone how our sponsors support and believe in us, to help us achieve our fundraising goal $10,000 to cover our expenses.

We have established four levels of sponsorship support:

     Platinum ($1000)
     Gold ($500)
     Silver ($250)
     Bronze ($100)

Sponsors names and logos will be featured on our shirts, which will be worn by student chapter members during the national competition.

Each sponsor will receive a commemorative plaque with pictures taken during the championships. Additionally, we will send a team photo of the surveying team. Any awards we receive during the competition will be placed on display within the Florida Tech campus along with a sponsor board containing all sponsors.

We appreciate your generous support. Without you our small private university would not exist. And our survey team promises to uphold its motto of We Can Find It as we compete for Florida Tech and its alumni.
