Center For Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design (CAMID)

CAMID

The Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design (CAMID) is a 100,000-square-foot Florida Tech complex designed to serve as an innovative laboratory space, business accelerator, and workforce development facility for manufacturers of all sizes. CAMID supports the latest cutting-edge computer-driven processes with a substantial emphasis on additive methods. The CAMID facilities include an automotive bay, machine shop, VR/AR development space, motion capture studio, a robotics bay, a variety of 3D printers, and more.  Going further, CAMID is Florida Tech and offers access to resources and industry experts in a wide variety of engineering, materials research, and advanced fields to help develop your next big idea.

Additionally, CAMID offers hands-on project-based experiences to encourage students in K-12 schools to pursue STEM-related fields. These experiences are hyper-motivating and give students the opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering, and math in ways that can be mistaken for fun. Some of these activities include Battle of the Electronic Bands where bandmates design and build their own instruments, BristleBots where students create their own chaotic robot out of a toothbrush and pager motor, Make-Tetris where they build a playable handheld game, Bluetooth Speaker manufacturing, and a Cyber:bot experience that teaches students of all ages python programming, cybersecurity concepts, and electronic prototyping.

With your generosity, CAMID will continue the mission of bringing innovation and STEMpowered inspiration to our community.
