History

On December 5th, 2007, during the Florida Institute of Technology 50th Anniversary Campaign, Harris Corporation gifted a $5 million fund. A portion of the fund was allocated in the construction of the 8,000 sq. ft.  Harris Institute for Assured Information, found in the south academic quadrangle on campus. The space is located in the Harris Center for Science and Engineering Center. The rest of the funds have gone toward the Harris Endowed Chair in Assured Information and to support students of Florida Tech. Furthermore, Harris continued support of student research projects in the next following years.
