Who we are

The Florida Tech International Advisory Board (IAB) is a select group of leading alumni and supporters who act as informed advisors on issues of importance to the University as it continues to develop and expand its international scope and efforts. The IAB seeks to initiate, engage, and develop relationships with international alumni, corporations, and partners to support Florida Tech’s international reach and provide our students with opportunities for international exposure and the development of a global perspective.

IAB members have experience across industry sectors, international markets and functional disciplines. They are all passionate about Florida Tech and its global vision.

We, the Florida Tech International Advisory Board, pledge to utilize individual member expertise and personal networks of connections around the world to:

• Promote Florida Tech globally as a preeminent higher education institution

• Support University efforts to become a Top 50 Engineering and Top 100 university

• Assist the Office of Alumni Affairs to connect and build relationships with International alumni

• Identify potential global partnership opportunities for the University and its faculty

• Identify financial resources to support international initiatives and grow international philanthropic support

The University President will serve as the Chair of the IAB with the Vice President for Alumni Affairs and Development as Vice Chair. The Office of President will be the primary communications and facilitation interface of the IAB. The Vice President for Alumni Affairs and Development and assigned staff will coordinate IAB communication, interaction and event logistics.

The IAB will be composed of 12-20 alumni and other supporters, as well as University staff and faculty selected at the discretion of the Chair. Members will represent a diversity of experiences, perspectives and regional network of relationships. IAB members will serve an initial 3 year term (renewable at University and Member discretion).

An Executive committee (EC) will be composed of 5 members of the IAB. The Chair, Vice Chair and 3 members invited by the Chair will provide leadership and guidance to the IAB. The EC reviews new member nominations and member renewals as well as determines faculty and staff invitations as appropriate.

The IAB will meet twice a year (with the opportunity for one virtual meeting) to facilitate consultation with Florida Tech and to evaluate impact of IAB initiatives.
