Effective Date Mar 4, 2014
A grade of incomplete (or “I”) is given when a course cannot be completed because of circumstances beyond the student's control. The “I” indicates that coursework is qualitatively satisfactory and there is a reasonable expectation that completion of the outstanding coursework would result in a passing grade. The instructor must provide a statement regarding the work to be completed to the head of the academic unit. The student must complete the work (including the final exam)at the earliest possible time, but no later than six weeks after the course end date. The “I” will automatically become an F at the end of the sixth week if the outstanding coursework has not been completed.
