A master’s in business administration (MBA) degree is a valuable commodity in all manner of business environments—public or private, for-profit or nonprofit, large or small. But if you enjoy engaging with diverse global cultures and understanding different business environments, or want to make international travel part of your career, our MBA with a concentration in International Business is for you.
The Bisk College of Business’s MBA in International Business complements a strong foundational core of business principles with experiential courses covering all aspects of international business to create a complete global business program. The program includes courses in cross-cultural management, international marketing, global finance, global management, and international economics, with multiple study-abroad options to complete your diversified international business education.
The international business MBA offers a diversified plan of study that engages students in understanding multinational enterprise (MNE) strategies, global brands, international industries, and worldwide markets. Focused courses challenge students to gain an understanding of global competitive advantage, international finance, and national-level institutional policies through experiential learning and active participation.
Building on business foundations in accounting, marketing, finance, economics, human resources, information systems, management, and organizational behavior, the MBA curriculum is enriched through practical applications, a global perspective, faculty mentors, and collaborative teams.
The master’s in international business requires students to work in teams on a wide array of international case studies. Theory is developed and applied through teamwork, presentations, and individual research papers.
Whether you want to be a multinational corporate manager or an innovative entrepreneur, are looking to start a new career in the international field, or extend your existing career, the MBA in International Business program at the FIT Bisk College of Business gives you all the tools you need to be successful.
When completed, you will be fully prepared to do decision-making in multinational firms, be a global consultant, or grow a small or medium enterprise (SME) to reach global markets. Here you’ll develop a strong background in business and get hands-on experience in modern global management strategies and best practices.
In this program, you can expect:
Florida Tech’s study-abroad tour of Europe is business-intensive, focusing primarily on direct engagement with executives of multinational firms and executive-level presentations at companies like the Philips Corporation (Amsterdam), Freixenet Cava (Catalonia), SEAT Corporation (Spain and Germany), the Port of Algeciras (the sixth-busiest container port in Europe), El Corte Inglés (Madrid), and more. Graduate students will have the opportunity to engage with MNE executives and work on real-world case studies.
You’ll be immersed in local culture, bringing you into direct contact with history so you can grasp—firsthand—the cultural strength behind business decisions. You’ll also have multi-hour engagements at top-ranked universities, including “TED Talk style” presentations from world-renowned lecturers, meetings with executives from global NGOs (nongovernmental organizations), and face-to-face interactions with your European grad student peers.
In addition to the summer tour of Europe, other study-abroad programs for international business students are being developed for Central and South America.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree; however, the degree need not be in business administration or international studies. Applicants who are graduates of non-business programs are also encouraged to apply. An applicant is assigned an advisor soon after acceptance into the MBA program, and should meet with the advisor to prepare a program plan outlining the courses needed for the MBA in International Business.
The admissions decision is based on a review of the application documentation including work experience, academic performance, references, and written statement of purpose. Preference for graduate scholarships will be given to applicants who take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).
