The Master of Arts in Behavior Analysis Practice is design to create high-level science-informed practitioners that can work across a variety of areas of behavior-analytic practice. The program involves 33 semester credit hours of coursework from Florida Tech’s ABA Online program. Florida Tech faculty and ABA Online co-instructors help students integrate academic curricula with applied situations.
The Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) has approved the Florida Tech course sequence as meeting all instructional requirements for certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®). The MA in Behavior Analysis Practice is a two-year program with flexible course times to accommodate student schedules and time zones. Students have an option to complete either a Final Program Exam or a capstone project supervised by Florida Tech faculty.
The Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate at Florida Tech is comprised of the 11 courses (21 credits) within the master’s level ABAI Verified Course Sequence in behavior analysis. This certificate is suited for individuals who have a bachelor’s degree, and who either have, or intend to pursue, a graduate degree and graduate level certification. In addition to providing all content offered in the assistant level certificate, the master’s level certificate provides additional content necessary for master’s level practitioners.
Successful completion of this certificate will allow students who meet the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® degree and supervised fieldwork requirements to qualify to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) exam. Students enrolled in this certificate also have the option to use coursework completed within this certificate to meet degree requirements for the MA in Professional Behavior Analysis offered by Florida Tech.
The Applied Behavior Analysis Assistant Certificate at Florida Tech is comprised of the 8 courses (16 credits) within the assistant level ABAI Verified Course Sequence in behavior analysis. This certificate is suited for individuals who have a bachelor’s degree and want to develop professionally either before, en route to, or instead of, seeking a graduate degree and graduate level certification. The assistant level certificate includes an introduction to concepts and principles, measurement, assessment, behavior change procedures as well as ethics, and supervision and management.
Successful completion of this certificate will allow students who meet the degree and supervised fieldwork experience requirements of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB®) to qualify to take the Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst® (BCaBA®) examination. In addition, all courses in this certificate are taught at the graduate level, allowing students who choose to continue their studies in behavior analysis to later use courses completed in this sequence toward meeting coursework requirements at the BCBA® level.
The Ph.D. in cell and Molecular Biology at Florida Tech focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that direct all cellular processes. Guided by faculty with expertise in molecular genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, and protein biochemistry, our doctoral students become partners in cutting-edge research, and learn to conduct independent projects, and report on their scientific advances in scientific journals and international meetings.
After graduation, our students go out into the world to contribute to efforts in pharmaceutical development, detecting and curing diseases, and developing new technologies to aid advances in molecular biosciences.
