Stem Stars

Space Coast STEM Stars

As Florida's STEM University, Florida Tech is committed to encouraging and inspiring young learners to pursue their STEM interests beyond high school. To that aim, Florida Tech selects one local Brevard County high school student to recognize as a Space Coast STEM Star each month during the school year.

What makes a STEM Star?

A STEM Star is a young person who demonstrates extraordinary talent and a relentless passion for science, technology, engineering, math and everything in between. STEM Stardom is not about grades alone.

We want to recognize students for their academic achievments, of course. But more than that, our goal is to honor students who stand out because of their creativity, drive and never-give-up attitude. We're looking for Brevard County's most relentlessly passionate STEM students!

STEM Stars are the young scientists, engineers, programmers and inventors of the future—the amazing kids who make you go, "Watch out world, here comes [student's name here]!"

What does a STEM Star receive?

Every student chosen to be a STEM Star will:

  • Be invited, along with their nominating teacher, principal, parents and Florida Tech representatives to participate in a brief award presentation ceremony
  • See themselves featured in a STEM Star profile by Space Coast Daily
  • Get invited to campus for a personalized VIP counseling session with Florida Tech admissions and financial aid experts
  • Gain special access, by request*, to Florida Tech people (amazing professors), places (like our giant telescope) and events (like lectures or football games)
  • Forever be honored as a Space Coast STEM Star on this website

*Tell us what you want and if we can make it happen, we will!
